ClearValue Cards uses conservative benchmarks: 1.5 cpp for Chase UR, 1.4 cpp for Amex MR, 1.0 cpp for Capital One Miles default (1.4 via select transfer partners). We score effective rewards rate using these benchmarks, not the issuer's marketing rate.
